Frequently asked questions
How often does a DSG need servicing?
It depends on the gearbox: wet-clutch DSGs usually need an oil and filter change around every 60,000 km, while many dry-clutch units have no fixed interval. We check your car’s logbook and tell you exactly what applies.
What is a mechatronic unit?
It’s the DSG’s electronic and hydraulic control unit that shifts the gears. Faults can cause jerky shifts or limp mode – we diagnose it properly before recommending repair or replacement.
Can you service DSG without voiding my warranty?
Yes – we follow the manufacturer’s procedure and fluid specification and record it in your logbook.
My car is stuck in limp mode – can I drive it?
Limp mode limits power to protect the gearbox. Drive gently and only a short distance – or call us first and we’ll tell you the safest way to get it to us.
